Festival Artdanthé, Théâtre de Vanves, Salle Panopée, Paris (FR) - Premiere in France
perfect pitch
2021
In a duet with the performer and musician Nelson Schaub aka Maître Peintre, Baptiste Cazaux deconstructs the mechanisms of virtuosity and reflects on amateurism as a creative, transformative force that generates new forms. perfect pitch premiered on 6 and 7 March 2021 at the Théâtre Sevelin 36, as part of the Printemps de Sévelin festival (Lausanne, CH).
Passionate about notions of transformation, variation and hybridization, Baptiste Cazaux deconstructs the mechanisms of virtuosity and is interested in the relationship between artistic technique and fragility. Created in collaboration with the performer and electronic musician Nelson Schaub aka Maître Paintre, perfect pitch oscillates between mastery and awkwardness and reflects on amateurism as a creative bias, transformer and generator of new forms.
perfect pitch is a ballet passed through the mixer, a self-tuned lyrical song, a detuned orchestra from which shines a very deep desire to perform, a great humanity transgressing the relations of domination and alienation created by the so-called classical technique.
perfect pitch premiered on March 6 & 7th, 2021 at Festival Les Printemps de Sévelin (Théâtre Sévelin, Lausanne, CH).
