JAUNE pour Jour(s) (création 2027) - Lara Barsacq
Conceived as a cycle, this series of four pieces, each centred on a primary colour, explores texture, sensations, symbolic imagery, and the mythological or mystical significance that the colour conveys. Each piece treats colour as a living material: how it flows through the body, affects the senses, shapes the imagination, and carries cultural symbolism. The stage thus becomes a space where colour unfolds as an energy, a language and a sensory experience shared between performers, music and the audience.
JAUNE pour Jour(s) is a choreographed piece for 9 to 11 performers accompanied by Spectrum Colur. They will explore the sensation of entering the colour yellow. Drawing on various iconographies and narratives associated with this colour, they will construct a choreography imbued with the sensation and energy of yellow. Historical and pictorial references, iconographies, materials, songs and movements will inform this exploration, celebrating colour as a living substance. What is yellow? Which iconography to choose, which story?
After Lost in Ballets russes (2018), IDA don’t cry me love (2019), Fruit Tree (2021), La Grande Nymphe (2023) and Kassia Undead (2025), JAUNE pour Jour(s) is Lara Barsacq’s sixth project.
The premiere will take place in October 2027 at the Charleroi danse Biennale.
